Situated on the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast between Scarborough and Filey the village of Cayton is mentioned in the Domesday book as Caitune and there is no doubt that it existed many years prior 1066. Standing next to the 12th Century church in the heart of this village is the former ‘Smithy’ and ‘Inn’.
For more than 200 years the former cottages on the corner of Church Lane and Main Street have been of service to locals and travellers alike with the resident blacksmith shoeing horses and offering hospitality.
After an extensive 3 year renovation project our family have breathed life into this historic site and are proud to be able to open the doors to welcome guests once more.
We believe the hospitality of an era long since gone combined with the unashamed luxury, modern conveniences and high end comforts required by today’s guests bring together a new standard of boutique experience to the area.
